The Chamber of Text, or Bulwagan ng Panulat features a number of writings by Rizal, including some of his scientific discoveries in Dapitan, replicas of his famous sculptures, and many more.
The Bulwagan ng Panulat(Chamber of Text) in Fort Santiago features a huge collection of works and writings by Dr. Jose Rizal.
The greatest achievement of Rizal in London was the annotating of Morga's book, Sucesos de las Islas Filipinas (Historical Events of the Philippine Islands) which was published in Mexico, 1609. He spent many days in the reading room of the British Museum poring over the pages of this book and laboriously reading the old histories of the Philippines (Zaide, 2008).

Rizal discovered some rare specimens which were named in his honor by the scientists. Among these were Draco rizali (a flying dragon), Apogonia rizali (a small beetle), and Rhacophorus rizali (a rare frog) -- [Zaide, 2008].

Rizal practised medicine in Dapitan. He had many patients, but most of them were poor so that he even gave them free medicine (Zaide, 2008).

On February 15, 1889, Graciano Lopez Jaena founded the patriotic newspaper called La Solidaridad in Barcelona, where he was then residing. Two days after the birth of La Solidaridad, del Pilar wrote to Rizal in London: "At last our little newspaper was born. It is democratic in its opinion, but very much more so in the organization of its staff. .. " (Zaide, 2008).

Leonor Rivera was a young lady from Camiling, and a cousin of Jose Rizal. Leonor's father had provided room and board in Casa Tomasina, Intramuros for Rizal when the youth was still starting his third year at the university. The young girl was then a student at La Concordia College where Soledad, Rizal's little sister was also studying.
